A Step Above Assisted Living
What do we mean by a step above Assisted Living?
We are licensed to provide Sheltered Care, which includes everything you’ll find in assisted living plus 24 hour nursing. Caledonian House combines personalized assistance, compassionate care, and encourages meaningful activities so our residents can experience friendship, support, and happiness. When your family member stays with us, you and they will have peace of mind knowing attentive professionals respect their privacy and dignity while assisting them with daily tasks as needed. We offer our residents three meals each day, life enriching activities, housekeeping, and laundry. Beauty and barber services are also available. We provide regular outings and also scheduled transportation for an additional charge. With all of these amenities, living here is the next best thing to living at home.

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care
What is Unique Community Memory Care?
The Challenge of Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are impacting more and more seniors and their families. The Caledonian House is a practical response to this challenge, providing a haven of expert care deeply informed by a century of experience.
Home in Every Way
Caledonian House is not your average memory care facility. It’s not an institution with long, daunting corridors. It’s truly a home where residents feel valued, loved, and purposeful. Each of the Caledonian House’s two floors is home to ten residents, all with private bedrooms and full bathrooms, all opening onto a great room where activities take place by the fire side, an open kitchen fills the home with aromas of home cooking, and meals are enjoyed together as a family.
Like a Family
Our philosophy of one-on-one care is inspired by the comfort of home and the warmth of family. Care Partners in the Caledonian House, all Certified Nursing Assistants, are cross-trained in personal care, meaningful engagement, culinary skills, housekeeping, and resident directed dementia care. Consistent resident-Care Partner interaction builds familiarity, trust and well-being and it encourages residents to remain active, engaged and fulfilled.

Should I Consider Respite Care?”
Caring for an aging loved one can be demanding. A caregiver needs more support so you can take a break to re-charge. Respite care offers temporary care for your family member in a loving environment that is like home for as short as one week or up to a few months.
